Duane Conrad

Obituary of Duane Joseph Conrad

Duane Joseph Conrad

Duane Conrad passed away on Friday, September 9, 2022, at age 75 after a long battle with cancer. The sad event occurred on the north shore of Minnesota while spending a weekend with his beloved family to support his daughter Sara in her 2nd Superior 100 race. He was born and raised in Chicago, IL and was a long-time resident of St. Paul, MN. He served in Vietnam as a Marine Corps Lieutenant and received a Purple Heart and Silver Star honors, amongst others; taught in the St. Paul Public Schools Adult Basic Education department teaching English as a second language; and volunteered as Vice President of the Ramsey County Chapter, Pheasants Forever.

Duane was a family man who loved his devoted wife of 45 years and his daughters dearly. He enjoyed spending time with them all whether somewhere on the north shore hiking, exploring, or relaxing or being his daughters’ biggest cheerleader and supporter during their epic endurance events.

He was a passionate, active, and adventurous person. He loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter, bird watcher, and had the pictures to show for it because of his love for photography. When he was not on an adventure, you could find him reposed in his favorite chair reading mysteries.

Duane is survived by his wife, Marilyn and daughters Lindsay and Sara Conrad; his sister Dale Ramsey (Gordon). Preceded in death by his parents Joseph Conrad, and Anna Mooth (Charles).
