Obituary of Donald Bart Long

Donald B. long age 89, of Maplewood MN 

Was called home on December 21st 2022

Waiting for him is his loving wife Darlene M . Long age 78 who was called home on September 24th 2013 . Donald was a proud Air Force veteran who was based out of Langley air base in Norfolk VA his occupation during this time was AC mechanic during his time served in the Korean war. After the Air Force Don went on to coach boxing at The  Mex. Am. Boxing gym and Ultimately The  Rice St. Boxing gym where he assisted in coaching a promising prodigy Mike Evgen alongside coaches Jay Pelzer and Paul Ebel their prodigy Mike went on to become a World Champ. 

Donald & Darlene were very loving , supportive and understanding parents and grandparents.  

Darlene was a loving gentle artistic crafty easy going mother and grandmother. Keeping the family together was her passion and every holiday she made It special with arts and crafts and baking that left a sentimental imprint on her grandchildren's childhood .

Preceded in death by their Son Bart Long. 

Survived by Daughter Shelene Bloom ( John Bloom Jr.) , Grandson Derek Long ( Roselle Long ) , Grand Daughter/ God daughter Seonna Moreland , Great Grand Daughter Aurora Moreland. A funeral service will be held in their honor at 1:30pm on Jan.31st 2023 at Ft. Snelling cemetery 7601 34th Ave S, Minneapolis, MN 55450
