Obituary of Richard H. Davis

Richard H. Davis was born June 17th, 1941, in Sioux City, IA. He moved to Minneapolis, Minnesota as a teenager. Richard enjoyed learning and teaching others about black history, business, and civil rights. He was an active community member who spoke out against police brutality and discrimination. He enjoyed watching the Minnesota Vikings on Sundays, and enjoyed martial arts, boxing, track and field, riding his bike and long walks with his dogs, Malcolm, Caesar & Hercules. He later worked in the field of gerontology, the study of aging. He enjoyed working with the elderly and having long conversations about their life experiences. He is preceded in death by his mother Leona Davis and father Howard Forbes, sister Geni and brother Melvin. He is survived by his children, Julius and Kelly Davis and David Carriger, many grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
