Obituary of Sandra Jean Wilson
Sandra J. Wilson (Sandy)
Born: 1/30/1952
Died: 2/10/2023
Sandy died at home surrounded by loved ones 2/10/23 after a long battle with end stage Renal Failure. Sandy was survived by her Loving husband James Wilson Jr., of 53 years. Her children Vanessa Cavin (Bob), James Wilson III (Anna), Melody (niece) and her only grandson Benly Cavin. Her sisters, Shirley Oswald and Cindy Martin (John) and the pup Nemo. Many sister and brother in-laws, nieces, nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews, God Children and many friends. Sandy was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Janet Schultz.
Sandy grew up in Oakdale and went to North St. Paul High School. Sandy has maintained friendships since elementary school, she continued to make lifelong friends. Sandy is the friend everyone wanted.
Sandy met Jim in 1970 and married that same year. Over the years they found they had the love of travel, together they have went on many cruises and all-inclusive resorts. One of Sandy’s favorite places to be was PathFinder
Village, not only because their summer spot is there, but because it was 7 miles from two casinos.
Her number one priorities and worries were her children, Vanessa, Jimmy and her niece Melody. She was a strong leader and protector, and instilled life-long values.
For over 46 years Sandy worked with St. Paul Schools specializing in children who have high emotional needs. She had such a love for children and found the good in all of them. After retirement she worked cashiering part-time for Jerry’s Foods.
One of things that Sandy couldn’t wait for was a grandchild. Once Benly came into her life that is all Sandy bragged about. She loved being a Grandma. He loves his Grandma “Bigger than a Redbox”, aka “Bigger than a bread box".
