I am a Cretin High School drummer and bandmate of Vince’s. As fellow drummers we learned that shy boy’s can get attention as drummers and we matured a lot in high school through various programs like the band. I see that Vince continued his drum and music education as he prepared for life.
My most recent memory of Vince occurred with our 50th Cretin High School Reunion as our great band director Robert (Prof) Paulson created a reunion of our high school marching band drum-line which performed in the 1969 Washington DC Presidential Inaugural Parade. The reunion featured getting the drummers together to find the music, practice it and play the street beat and other music to relive the memory of the parade and honor. I still remember looking over at my fellow snare drummers Vince and Larry Hennessy and other drummers as we practiced our street beat which was used to march the band when we were not playing music in the parade. I saw the enjoyment of Vince and others as we again relived that memory. I realize that recent memory of sharing music together with Vince was “as good as it gets”. We will miss you Vince….
I am not currently in Minnesota and will reluctantly not be attending the funeral. My sincere sympathy for you and your family’s loss. My heart and prayers are with you.

So good and fun to read your thoughts about time with our classmate, Vince. He always seemed happy. It was good to be at Vince’s funeral Mass yesterday. There were 5 of us 69ers there.
Vince was a good and gentle man.
May he rest in peace in the loving presence of Jesus!

My sincere condolences to Vince's family. I have fond memories of Vince as a band-mate in the U of MN drum line. I remember his positive attitude and influence, and mischievous smile. He was a gifted musician/percussionist. He raised the level of everyone's skill and made us all better musicians. He was a gentle and caring soul who will be missed. Scott Ramsay

To Vince's family I would like to convey my deepest condolences for Vince after being in tbe Band together at Cretin and seeing him again at the food store on Bernard By Smith and Dodd, I would stop in and talk to him then one day he was no longer there and the store had been bought by Oxendale's.
Vince was a good friend an Alumus and I will miss him. May God Bless him and all his family members.
