Happily rejoined her maker on early Tuesday morning, September 19th, 2017.
Sandy was born on November 16th, 1949 in Marshfield, Wisconsin. She moved to Witchita Falls, Texas during her childhood and came back to Albert Lea, Minnesota in December, 1960. She graduated Albert Lea High in 1967 to attend college at Augsburg. Sandra worked as an internal auditor for over 20 years. Due to her illness, she was unable to continue working, but devoted her time to her family. She volunteered for 4-H, Girl Scouts, and numerous school events in addition to serving on the Ramsey City Council. She purposefully found God in everyone and loved being surrounded by people and nature. She lived her life fully and intentionally, and ate her dessert first. Her unconditional love for everything will serve as an inspiration for those she leaves behind.
Sandy will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 29 years, John, and their children Joy (Jonathan) Cloutier, and Jewel Bertzyk. Sandy will also be held in the hearts of her grandchildren, Caelum, Jacob and Elena Cloutier; and by her sisters Pam (David) Marable, and Martha Beighley. She has joined her parents, Dale and Joann Sorenson; her brother, Eric Sorenson; and granddaughter, Ava Cloutier.
Her Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, September 24th from 2:00 to 4:00 pm, with service to be held at 3:00 pm at her home at 6001 146th Ave NW, Ramsey, MN 55303. Per Sandy’s request, please wear green and come ready to party.
Private interment to follow at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
