Betty Racek, age 95 of Burnsville, died peacefully in her sleep Sept 10, 2019. She was a Minneapolis-native who attended Minneapolis Roosevelt High School and worked as an office manager for several companies. But her true profession was raising her family. On November 4, 1954 she married Casey Racek and raised 3 boys that will carry on her legacy. Scott, Randy(Karen), and Todd(Lori) who combined added 9 grandsons of their own to the family: Tom, Riley, Garrett, Nic, Bryan, Jason, Jeff, Chase and Derek. Great grandchildren Maisie and Nolan. Along with numerous nieces and nephews by birth and friendship. She is preceded in death by her parents, Jessie and Fred Benson and only sister Margaret(Frank) Lindholm. Betty’s life was spent caring for and enjoying her family. She loved time at the cabin in Crosslake, MN during the summers and retirement years in the RV heading south. She was an avid fan and supporter of her sons and grandsons sports attending every game possible. Betty loved entertaining and set tables that would make Martha Stewart jealous. Her outfits meticulously matched every day, including accessories. She was known to buy gifts for pretty much everyone she met. The smile and twinkle of her eye will be missed, but can now light up the sky at a new and better place. Visitation at Prince of Peace Church,1320 Fairview Drive Burnsville, MN at 5 pm on Tuesday, Sept 17. Funeral immediately after at 6 pm with refreshments and appetizers to follow.
